Running for Emma: Three Marathons to Light the Way

Lara and William run across Europe to raise funds and awareness for Emma, a little girl from Malta living with Usher Syndrome type 1B.

Emma is a bright and courageous little girl from Malta, living with Usher Syndrome type 1B — a rare genetic condition that causes profound deafness from birth, severe balance issues, and progressive childhood blindness.

To give Emma and others like her a brighter future, her aunt Lara and uncle William have taken on a powerful mission: between April and October 2025, they will run not one, but three major races across Europe:

Rotterdam 10K (Completed)

Utrecht Half Marathon (21km)

Lisbon Marathon (42km)

Their goal?

To raise €10,000 to support Save Sight Now Europe’s work accelerating research and treatments for Usher Syndrome type 1B.

This is more than a physical challenge — it’s an act of love, hope, and determination. Every step they take is a step closer to a cure.

Let's put the accent where it matters.
