Spain Releases First Report on Rare Visual Diseases

Retina Murcia Association launches with its Research Group on Rare Visual Diseases (GISERV) the first Report on Rare Visual Diseases.

Spain has published its first report on rare visual diseases, focusing on access to clinical and genetic diagnoses and the social impact on patients’ daily lives. The descriptive study involved individuals affected by vision-limiting conditions, aiming to highlight their challenges and improve healthcare services.

The Research Group on Rare Visual Diseases (GISERV) belongs to the Retina Murcia Association. In this study, they present the first report in Spain on access to clinical and genetic diagnosis, as well as the social impact on the daily life of people affected by any of these pathologies that limit vision. They have paid attention to the resources that these people have in Spain and after the analysis, they provide a series of proposals for improvement.
