On Sunday 7 May, a 2.5 km race-walk took place in Deltebre to benefit research on Usher Syndrome type 1B. About 500 people took part in the charity event entitled ‘Fem camí per l’Usher i el Leo’’.
Together they managed to raise more than 5,000 euros with the purchase of bibs, the more than 1,300 bracelets made by the students, and the participation in the raffle of items donated by local merchants.
“It’s a long race, but we are very grateful to everyone who has supported us. It has been very good for Leo to see so many people getting involved” said Amaya Parra, Leo’s mother.
